I use to clean houses for a living and some of the carpets in the houses was aweful. But there was one person that would come in a clean them and man did they do a great job. Now I live where theres alot of dirt that is getting into my carpet and I have childs, well that should say it all..lol..And I was wondering if any one has any ideas on how to make a completely dirty carpet look almost as good as new?

Vacuum and shampoo will do. Although carpet manufacturers strongly advice not to use shampoo, it has worked for us just fine.

When you say shampoo, what kind of shampoo are you talking about. Because I have even had people tell me that they use liquid detergent for clothes on their carpets.

There's a machine you can get that you use to shampoo your carpet. They can also be rented at hardware stores like Home Depot. It's a lot of work, but well worth it. If you don't have the time or energy, there are lots of carpet cleaners out there who would be happy to do it for you.
