Job Issues

Well, refusing to do what you are asked, is probably a pretty good way to get fired. I think what I would do in that situation is start on the list and see what kind of information I could get. If I get through , say 20 on the Unions, and none of the will give me any information, I might just check in with my manager and say "here is what I have done so far, and no one is willing to give out any info. Should I continue on thislist, or maybe try an alternate way to get information? Perhaps I could try some online research?" If he says, no stick with calling the list...well then you know for sure this is not the right place for you to be working... Are you in a situation where you have to work? If that's the case I would try to tough it out as long as you can, while looking for a new job very agressively. Then you can quit and have somewhere new to land, which always makes paying the bills much easier! I'm so sorry, hating your job is a horrible thing. Good Luck.

I guess what I want to know is are you in a possition to quit. If you are I would go explain one more time that I don't feel comfortable on the phone and if he couldn't respect that them I would tell him I was going to turn in my notice. It is as simple as that.

It is horrible to have to go to a job that you hate. I am hoping to make load of money on the internet but haven't managed it yet so can't share with you. I don't quite understand how you are self-employed and still have to do phone calls that a boss gives you. If you want to stay there you will have to at least make an attempt at the calls. Perhaps you could ask them if they have any vacancies at the same time!
