Fighting on MyLot

I wasn't here much the last couple days, and today all I see are all these discussions on this person did that, and that person did that, and it's just appalling.
I don't care who was wrong or who was right, I just wonder why people have to take things so seriously here.
Most people here don't even know each other personally, so why take things to such extremes?
I have been enjoying my time spent on mylot, but lately it seems that you have to wade through all these discussions filled with strife and anger and resentment, and I find it a turn off.
If someone doesn't like my opinion or what I have written, then it's not the end of the world.
Maybe I just think differently than others, but I don't see how bashing others is conducive to making a good on-line community.
I can understand reporting someone if they cheat, such as copy and pasting a discussion word for word, or being abusive to someone.
I am probably not seeing the whole picture, but mudslinging and bashing others doesn't ever resolve anything.

I have to agree with you/. Maybe I am not seeing the whole picture either but I just can't find anything interesting to respond to today because like you say the discussions are filled with strife anger and resentment. We should all just let bygones be bygones and get back to quality discussions.

Couldn't have said it better. I agree with you 100%. There seems to be a dire need of changes in attitudes and changes in latitudes here at MyLot.
Thanks for starting this discussion and may I add I hope you don't get any bashing at all for pointing out the truth.

Fortunately or unfortunately it takes all kinds to make a world, and there's nothing one person can do to stop it. I just walk away from it, when I see it, and I don't get involved. It's all we can do, or we'd be fighting every hour of every day of our lives.

some people really do need to take their sticks out of their butts. the world today IS more sensitive to everything. and you're completly right. i mean, this is just a discussion forum and everyone else entitled to their own opinion and because we put it out there its also open for others to comment on our opinions. i personally like those kind of things. i good healthy 'argument' makes a person think, especially if they can do it in an adult resonsible way.

As one who has been insulted, and had a whole lot of people here give me negatives, I cannot see the extreme that people take to make me change my opinion and my point of view. These people seem to take it too personally, and they started bashing me. I just stated a simple thesis, and they twisted it around, and because one member wore her heart on her sleeve, she got quite a few to give me negatives. She wanted me to change my opinion and agreed with her. Well when I was younger, other people wanted me to agree with their point of view and to my chagrin I did. So I am telling when someone does not want to agree with you, it may be that they did what everyone else wanted them to and now they want to show some backbone.

i think mylot is not a place to do bitter political exchanges here. it's a place to share good ideas and love for every nation. Those nations who help others are great and are there not people to be helped? we should rather discuss issues that will bring mutual understanding to the world as a whole than this which will bring further divisions and maybe send bad feeling people out of mylot than bring them.
