What sort/type and colour of Loo/Toilet Roll do you use?

Do you use the really cheap stuff, the average stuff, the expensive ultra soft quilted stuff, or maybe the recycled scratchy stuff, the stuff that's scented, stuff with patterns, stuff in pretty colours or maybe you just use newspaper? We use just plain white toilet paper, nothing fancy, but nothing too cheap as it can be false economy! No luxuries such as being 'quilted' or 'kitten soft', no added aloe vera or pretty scent. Bascially ours is just 'bog' standard (ok sorry for the weak joke!). How about you?

we purchase either SCOTT brand or MARCAL. this is more economical than other brands - has 1000 sheets (not recycled) and cost around 50-55 cents a roll. We still go through it too fast. The few times I have used scented stuff (at other people's homes) I have ended up with a very swollen and painful perineum.

Hey, what are you trying to do here? Trying to let everyone know I am a cheapo? :PPP Well, I don't really care about this. I am not the one buying but we are not really fussy. As long as it is not as rough as sandpaper, it is fine enough. As a matter of fact, I can't stand those soft, silky ones. How do you clean with those? They slip from your fingers and they might even break easily. :P

I use just the plain white soft kind. I don't like the cheap stuff, it reminds me too much of school loo roll, which had the nickname of tracing paper at our school!!

Bog standard--my never heard that term before, but that's definitely the kind I use--a question--I'm curious...how did the term "loo" begin?? I notice that's a term the British use, just as the French say WC

I hate the stuff that leaves lint behind (no pun) so I go with the single ply. When someone else does the shopping and they get the 'expensive' stuff I cringe. You get more from the single ply stuff and it doesn't get stopped up in the loo.

I used to buy the cheap but I hate it being so thin that is ends up taking so much more to use. I have the quilted pattern generic one now and it seems to be better but I guess Charmin is the thickest. Last month I bought the Charmin in the mega roll and it lasted a LONG time. So if I have coupons I may go back to that. I like it white and no scent.

I use recycled loo roll because I like to save the planet while I wipe my bum :) If I can't find recycled then I pamper my bum with quilted. Haha.
