i started to read banana yoshimoto 10 years ago. at the beginning i didn't like it very much, but hten going on i started to love her way to describe that wounderful world, the way to talk about death and life, love and relationships. what do you think about her, the things she describes, the life she shows from japan?

I like her simple writing style and interesting characters; she usually incorporates some kind of humor into the situation as well. Basically, a fun read. Aside from character and place names, though, I don't think I would be able to tell she's specifically a Japanese writer. My favorite of her stories is definitely Kitchen.
