Joining The World of The Day People

Starting today my husband started working day shift. As much as I wanted to go back to bed after he left at five this morning. I just couldn't tell myself stern enough to get back to sleep. To use to having him there beside me while sleeping. So while I was sitting here having my tenth cup of coffee, I noticed the sun was starting to come up. I had almost truly forgotten what a sunrise was truly like. It was so beautiful, I wished I could have enjoyed it with my husband. The birds were singing as if they were welcoming the new day, and it was a moment I'm glad I stayed awake for. But now it is 4:20 in the afternoon and I feel so totally wiped out, it's surprising that I am even able to type this. Wonders shall never cease to amaze me. I have been a night person for so long now, that I'm finding it hard to make the switch from night to days. Of course I could have kept the same hours, but than I would never see my husband. Cause when I was awake he'd be asleep and vice versa. I'm sure given some time I will adjust to this new schedule, but I surely hope that it is soon, cause it's weird feeling this drained. When normally at this time I am wide awake and raring to go. No more coffee though if I drink anymore I swear I am gonna float away. So is there really an easy way to make the transition from night to day a smoother one? To where a person isn't feeling like all the energy has suddenly been zapped out of them in one mighty blow.

Perhaps a small nap around noon would help perk you up and you would not feel so drained by four thirty. Now I would probably not be satisfied with just a short nap though. I had always been a night person in my younger days. Now I hate my job on the midnight shift. I want to be a day person. I want to sleep at night! By the way, coffee never does anything to me to help me stay awake. It just makes me pee a lot.

If I tried to take a small nap around noon, I'd probably never get out of bed after that..lol Though provided I don't have any visitors like I did today, I may try it just to see what happens. All I know is that it is a definate that I'll be going to bed extra early tonight. Coffee doesn't do anything for me either, it just gives me something to keep me busy while trying not to fall asleep. It has the same effect on me and have made many trips to the bathroom today.
