Kind of a personal question

My boyfriend has abruptly ended our relationship saying it isn't and can't go anywhere... Anyway, my question is this. How many of you women are married to men that are quite a few years older than you? I am probably jumping to the singles sites too quickly as all I really want is to work things out with my boyfriend and spend the rest of our lives together but.... I met this man, but he is 14 yrs older than me and only 5 yrs younger than my own mother. I worry about the age difference!! I am 41, he is 55. I think I would feel differently if I was 20 and him 34 and we would both still be younger in life. So, I am curious about age difference relationships and if you are truly happy etc. I have no idea if I will ever decide to meet this man in person, but just in case and we like each other.... Thanks, Marsha

Well, I have never dated a man that was not just a few years older than me. My sister is only 18 and dating a 37 year old. They seem to be very happy together, although most people do not agree with their relationship. Besides, her boyfriend acts like a younger man anyway, so they seem to get along pretty well. I think that age does not matter in a loving relationship.

Thanks for the comments. Honestly I have no business even thinking of another relationship so soon after this break up...if ever at all.

My husband is eight years older than I am. My mom was eleven years older than my dad. They were married twenty three years. His current wife is nine years older than he is. I think if you like each other and have fun together, then it does not really matter.

i dont think age matters at all. My grandfather was 12 years older than my grandmother and they were the happiest couple I have ever met. My first husband and I were two years apart and we couldnt make it work. I think its love and respect that makes a relationship work not the ages of the people. By the way I met my current husband on-line. We have been tgether for over three years now. Good luck I hope it works out for you.
