That's really nice, I wish I can join your hobby one day, you can't get much luck with earrings but rings, necklace and other items can be much useful, still it's nice to find anything even a penny in the street :)

yes, I know, 1 lost earring without the other earring isn't worth much, but for scrap metals, but over time these things will add up. And I do agree rings and necklaces are much more better to find, but we don't get lucky everytime we go out. We don't find something everyday. So many other detectorist out there wanting a piece of the action, so it's hit or miss, being at the right place at the right time and it's always nice to find something out there! krissy

Do you melt what you find yourself? If so could you explain in detail? It sounds like a really good way to store up a little extra leverage, money wise. I haven't seen you around lately, glad you are back.

no, I don't personally melt it down myself, I will be sending it to a jewelry place. they will melt down all the gold together and take out all the impurities that makes gold different grades, like 10k, 14k, 18k etc. when they are done they make your gold 24k and the silver I will do the same with , sterling silver has impurities too, I want to take all the impurities out and make formed into pure treasure bars. Yes,gold prices are jumping through the roof, I'm going to be hunting all summer, the kids and adults will be flocking to the park this summer here in florida as temperatures go sky high! just to keep cool. So I will be there too, early! :) got to beat the few other people that patrol that lake with metal detectors.....rotflmao! So also I will keep cool, I got me a long handle water scoop, I will be out deep in the lake hunting inside and outside of the lake. :) krissy

Silver and gold is quite nice together and it would seem to me to have a balance to them. I have seen some jewelery with both and am not sure what you would not want to wear them. Glad to see that you found some nice things. Hope you keep us updated on your finds!!

Keep collecting your gold and silver bars will get bigger and bigger. The price of gold and silver is always going up. I think it is so neat that you do this. I don't have the patience to walk slow and hope. I guess it would be fun every now and then for me. I think it is great when I hear stories of people finding things of value. I go yard saling and have not found any high value items. I have heard stories of people buying a picture for .25 cents and it is worth $2,000.00. Again good luck in your finds.

Yeah, that would look really nice but I don't really know why no one have tried that just yet. I think that would be a great idea.
