Sony's best mobile.... it would definetly be the latest k810i ... its a bit expensive set but i hope it really doesn't matter as you need to give it to your close friend... it has got a very good picture quality along with good sound system and full supported Java applications... so i would definetly suggest you to present a K810i set to your close friend...

Depends on the personality of your friend. Does she/he loves music? Cause if she/he does, I would suggest ericsson's "W" series phones, they have the best music mobile phones available in the market. It has a bigger memory for audio storage and comes in a very stylish package. Now, if your friend is a very busy person, always on the go, I would suggest to get him/her a "P" series phone, or commonly known as PDA phone. The latest in the market which I'm using right now is P990i. It is 3G enable with 2 megapixel camera, microsoft office (excel & word) which I think are very useful. It's actually a mini-personal computer for me. And never get tired of playing with it coz everyday I discover something new and useful. =) Hope this helps.
