Do you think they Know?

I was wondering about people who just are not very nice people. The kind of people who will do nasty things to people to get what they want. I am not talking about big things here just things like lying, stealing, and cheating kind of stuff. No beatings or killings or anything like that. I was wondering do you think those average kind of not so nice people know that they are not nice people? I know I have met some people in my life that I think wow I don't want to get to close to them. Only to find out they think they are decent and good people. Do bad people know they are bad?
