Why Do Smart Girls Play Dumb????

Has the media influenced gurls that it's cool to act dumb?? That it's funny? I can see this happening everywhere.. Even within my own circle of friends! We girls are smart! We go through years of education until we get a degree! We're independent and we're intelligent! But as soon as these smart girls (and I know they are really smart!) come across guys, they act all bimbo-ish and dumb! Why does this happen? We see celebrities act all dumb and they're actually very smart! Otherwise they wouldn't be so rich! We don't see headlines about Natalie Portman, or Reese Witherspoon.. because it doesn't sell.. So has this caused young girls nowadays to think that it's cool to act dumb? Cuz it sells? What do you think???

Nice Question ... And how true , Even I have observed this kind of behaviour .... Do you think it is because of the "Males are cunning(not at all) and females are less so" kind of thinking that has been coming from the ancient times???

That's an interesting point.. I really don't know where it's coming from.. Maybe it is in our nature and like you said, from the ancient times. Maybe subconsciously we wanna make the man feel that we need their strength and guidance so they choose us! But those were the ancient times! We don't use tarzan-like clothes and need men to take fruits for us in the jungle, ryte? Thanks for the input though~!

I think its annoying to be honest. I hate girls who act all fake its annoying.It is probably becuase of the media that they do this though.

It is obvious they are not very smart if they are acting dumb. Myself personally I have no time for someone like that. If the female hides her intellect... she will not make it very far with me.

hey girl nice question. i have been wondering about this too. you see, i have a friend who is really smart academically. ut i wonder how come her attitude changes whenever we are mingling socially with other people, especially when there are boys. you know what's my suspicion? she's trying to act dumb because she thinks that boys get intimidated with smart girls. lolz. :P

Yup! I think that's the case for most girls! They think that guys will get more attracted to cute dumb ones so the guys can act like so-called 'heroes' for those damsels in distress! But I just wish girls realize that it's ok to act smart and not degrade themselves for the sake of guys!

I think you are absolutely correct. I do think the media has a heavy influence on this and leads young people to act dumb to increase their own attractiveness. It is quite silly really and very demeaning to them. Some of these "dumb" girls are all playing dumb and laughing all the way to the bank. They should pay more attention to the examples they are setting.

You know, from my experiences, 95% of beautifull girls have no manners, there not nice, they think they have everything in there worlds. They are so lame and I hate them for that. I'm not saying all pretty girls are disrespectfull but I feel they need to get some more education of being a nice person.

Woww.. 95% is a pretty huge number. I guess I can see where you're coming from. I have come across some girls who are very beautiful but happens to be rude at the same time. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with their appearance or not, but it is something to look at though. Thanks for sharing JoeDeath~! And I sure do hope you don't come across any of those kinda girls anymore.. ;D

First of all, this attached photo is from America's Next Top Model and I liked this TV show. I think acting like a dumb is the best method for a smart girl to do. Imagine you are so smart, many people will ask for your help. You can't decline all of them. And you have to do what you don't want to do. Our Chinese has a very famous saying: The wise man is like dumb. Since he's dumb, so nobody will force him to do anything. And this is why he is smart. Besides, I think men are afraid of smart girls, as it will make them look so stupid:)

I think that most smart girls are only academically smart but not intellectually. They tend to be smart in schools but in dealing with relationship they fail. Some are smart yet they come from a not-so-loving family. When they come out from their shells they know less. No matter how smart or dumb a person is, if this person knows love from God, this person can definitely find a successful long lasting relationship. God bless!

It's their common weakness actually. Haven't you noticed it?. Their tendency I guess is that they fall in love easily and breaks tremendously. (Awsss...) Maybe they cannot find contentment with every rleationships they've encountered that's why they keep on failing OR maybe they're just so UNLUCKy this time. Nobody is perfect anyway. ;)
