I live in Hong Kong and we don't make our makeup brands, therefore the only choice is to buy foreign branded cosmetics. For makeup items, I use mainly two brands now, one is MAC and the other is Bare Escentuals. Both of them are from USA and I am in love with their colors and qualities, especially bare escentuals because it's mineral makeup and it won't hurt skin. Too bad I can't buy any of those in Hong Kong right now. But whenever I travel to the states, I will buy some stocks *laughs*. You can check my reviews of Bare Escentuals items at http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_search&Itemid=5&searchword=Bare+Escentuals&submit=Search&searchphrase=exact&ordering=newest

I’m from Malaysia and I like to use our domestic make up like lipstick, loose powder …… as they are cheaper than those imported. I never stick to any specific brands. After using the same brand make up for a certain periods, I usually try other brands or new products provided they must of good qualities. It’s believed that to use a particular brand of make up for long period will have bad effect to our skin so it’s better to have a change lol.

I prefer Maybelline because it's good quality and not expensive. Mostly I buy foundation/cover-up and eyeliner from them. Despite the name, Maybelline actually originated in the U.S. (where I live atm). Now it's owned by French company L'Oreal. I hear that the Japanese brand Shiseido (the oldest cosmetics company in the world!) is very fine. However, I'm guessing that with quality comes price.
