A Yellow Star Is Born...

My blue, ten rated star has turned to an eight rated Yellow overnight. I didn't do a thing guv!!! honest... I'm not guilty, and don't deserve this!:-) Oh well... I don't much like the colour yellow, as all through my schooldays that was my house and team colours and I had to wear a yellow band. Nowadays though, it's the away colour worn by my favourite football team, Leeds United. Hmmm, perhaps we could solve the fluctuation problem with a three-coloured football badge! lol. Their home colour is white but the whole representative badge is blue, white and yellow... so I guess I can hack yellow for a while, until Mylot get this sorted out. It seems that most people have suffered a colour change, just like me!!! I wonder, could it be that with Liverpool losing last night, they did away with the red of their shirts? lol. So, to all you who went down to a yellow star... Come onnnnn you Lee-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!! Ha ha ha!

I had been a happy sunny yellow since my rating was first awarded. After months, I had noticed that my %age score was creeping up, till yesterday, I attained a communist red star (as you know, Rochdale is the birthplace of Communism) which made me feel I had 'come home'! Today, I am back to Yellow, and lucky to be there, as I'm now at 75/100. One point lower, and I should be a 7 (whatever colour that is). Most distressing for me, is that a friend (missak) has plummeted from a 10 to a 6, overnight, and now I find that you, too, have fallen. I am aware that the rightwing Christians of America are prone to attack my star rating, and feel this may have affected missak, too. You however, have not posted anything that could have offended these tolerant few, so I can offer no explaination. However, as a Lancastrian, I cannot support Leeds, the biggest city of Tykedom! Instead, I shall regard your new yellow star, as a reflection of your warm and sunny disposition. I'm sure you'll rescale the heights to which you are accustomed, and deserving, soon. All the best my friend.

Lol... yes, I did know that Rochdale was the birthplace of Communism, but your red star goes rather well with your red lips, my friend! :-) Unfortunately for you, you didn't stay at yellow too long... I think our dancing and chanting sent it away! lol. And who you calling a Tyke!!! ha ha ha. I'm a Tyke Supporter. ha ha ha. You were right about rescaling the heights, as if it really mattered, but my blue star is back. Now, who am I gonna support who wears blue? Errrrrrrrrm, are there any good teams wear blue? Manchester City, I hear you cry? No, nooooooooo, Adren!!! Nor Chelsea... I guess it'll have to be Brighton as they're my closest team. :-) You don't have to support Man U either if you don't want to... only gloryhunters support them. he he. How about finding a decent team of red? As amusing as ever, Adren. I look forward to your responses... have a great day, my friend, and Brightest Blessings. +

You're not wrong. How does he manage to read so much? He discusses things in great detail, and I believe that English is not even his mother-tongue! He simply staggers me. The bad news for me, is that I've reverted to my 9 rating, and now have a horrible 'Manchester Utd' red star! If I could get a golden 'hammer & sickle' on it, I'd be ok. I might have to give myself -ive ratings, to get back to yellow!

Lancaster, UK - The view of Lancaster Castle and Priory from the River Lune
I should mention that Rochdale football team wear blue, not as famous as Man City, or the Italian national side (the Azuri), but one of the friendliest clubs in football. I'm glad to see that the star system has re-adjusted, and we have all scaled new dizzy heights, including myself. It will take me a short while, for my head to shrink back to normal size, now that I am a burning hot red 9 star contributor! And, to keep up my professional Lancastrian status, I shall share a very old joke - 'What is the only good thing to come out of Yorkshire?' The M62! (20 years ago, the punchline was a much more romantic sounding 'East Lancs Road', but that's progress for you). Another nugget of useless information, in Yorkshire they do not use the mnemonic 'Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain' to remember that colours of the rainbow, and they teach that the Wars of the Roses were a draw! Strange folk, but I wouldn't be without them. All the best, my friend.

Darkwing, it is okay. By now you aware that it was just a glitch in the system. But then again, maybe your star was actually sick. Maybe your star had a fever and was a bit jaundice. LOL I am glad to see that your star has recovered quite nicely. It appears to be looking very healthy. Now in the future, remember to nurture your star properly. You have to take care of your star or you will end up taking it to the Star Vet's office for a shot of antibiotics. LOL

LOL, Royal. I love this response. Ok, I will get some meds in ready for the next time. It's bound to happen again, huh? I'm not so sure that blue is a healthy colour though, huh? ha ha ha Poor star! Next time it turns yellow, I'll wrap some cotton wool around it and treat it gently! :-) Brightest Blessings for a great day, my friend. +

Yeaaaaaaaah, but, but.... I liked to cheer my Leeds United yellow one. I wasn't sure who to cheer on blue, but I guess I'll have to either go with Mummymo on Stirling Albion, or my local team, Brighton and Hove Albion... both Albions, so... Albion, Albion, Albion.... Albion Albion Albi-yu-un! Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn youuuuuuuuuuuuuu blu-uuuuuuues! It wasn't overnight so much as mid-morning for us, but it was fixed by the early afternoon. There weren't any worries but everywhere was a sea of yellow stars, lol. I thought it a good chance to have a bit of fun! :-) Brightest Blessings and hold on to your star! :-)

I see you with a 10 star now, so I guess it was some problem which they have fixed now. Hope it stays that way.

Yes, sure it was. I had no doubt about that, as everybody's star changed within four or five minutes. There wasn't a 9 or 10 to be seen anywhere. ha ha ha I just thought I'd have a bit of fun with it whilst it was being sorted, and most people took it in good heart. Those of us who have been here a while know that it happens from time to time. Brightest Blessings for a great day.

I'm new, so i don't have stars yet. Or, at least I don't think i do. I think someone mentioned on one of the other posts that they my lot people are looking into the glitch and will be sorting it out soon. But, you did have an interesting alternative, just in case their ideas don't work out.

A lot tend to panic when something like this happens, Beauty. That's why I wanted to make light of it. I don't know... give a dog a bone, huh? It won't take you long to get up into the thousands now... the first one might be a bit of a haul but as time goes on, it becomes easier because other members come to know you and appreciate your discussion, so you gain support. Keep up the good work, my friend, and all the very best of luck!
@Darkwing (21583)
25 May 07
Indeed you do, Beauty! You have a big, fat, red 9 above your head, and you don't get them until you reach 100 points, so well done, that lady!!! They did sort it out quickly as I knew they would because it's happened before, but in the meantime, I thought I'd have a bit of fun with it! Brightest Blessings... Congratulations on your Red 9! Have a great day.

:) Blush! And, thanks for the warm My Lot welcome. I do feel like 100 was a big accomplishment. Then I go surfing around the conversations and see some veterans of the boards that are going on 2000! Arrgh! Not sure that will happen anytime soon for me. But, love the interesting chat, so I'll keep posting and maybe. Yeah, I knew they'd get it together and fix the stars. To me, everyone made too big a deal over the whole thing. That's just me, though. Have a g'day!

Well, yellow is the colour of the sunshine you bring into our lives, so it is a shame that it also carries an 8. However, supporting Leeds won't do you any favours lololol only kidding! I reckon that all the other fans did gang together! Just carry on regardless and never mind the colour, keep those wonderful posts coming, please :-)
@shelagh77 (3643)

Well, your blue star is back before Leeds are lololol. Wonder where it went on its day off? I think in a way falling so far will help because the money men won't be interested and they can go back to playing football again, which the players enjoy and hopefully more interesting games for the Supporters. Well I like your posts, so I hope there are lots!
@Darkwing (21583)
25 May 07
I agree, at least they run after the ball in the lower leagues. They don't stand there like a madonna and expect it to come to their feet. It's certainly more exciting annnnnnnnnnnd, Leeds will be playing in Brighton, Bournemouth and Bristol. How's that then? :-)
@Darkwing (21583)
24 May 07
Maybe supporting Leeds won't do me any favours, but I've supported them for so many years, that I'm not gonna stop now. They may be doing badly at present but mark my words you lot in the Premier... we'll be BACK!!! It may take some time but you'll see us in Europe again, where our record is pretty good! Thank you for the compliments, my friend. The star colour doesn't really bother me at all, which is why I made light of it instead of having a panic attack. ha ha ha. I had to smile when I saw it! Brightest Blessings for a great day, and I'll post as often as possible, or whenever my brain kicks in... whichever is the soonest! ha ha ha

Oh my!!! You went as a smurf and came back as a smiley??? You have to get those pills changed, my friend. They're too strong if they turn you yellow! ha ha ha Nothing to do with Liverpool... they didn't take their chances and didn't deserve to win. They played better, but it's all a matter of putting the ball in the back of the net, which they didn't do enough times. They're not my team, so I didn't mind too much... I just support the English side, rather than the foreing ones... Italian in this case. Have a good eveing, Gabs. x

No, yellow's not my colour really either, Snow. I mean, I'm blonde, and have a pale complexion with freckles. Yellow just doesn't go with blonde hair. Yeah, it was obviously a glitch but I thought I'd have a bit of fun in the interim. ha ha ha. It seems that not everybody understood and thought I was grumbling. Sheeesh... my sense of humour must be odd by some of the responses I received! Yours not included, of course, but you have to laugh at the mentality of some, don't you? ha ha ha Brightest Blessings for a great day, my friend.

Darkwing you make me giggle! Since I don't support any English Teams I will join you in shouting for Leeds for the moment but I warn you if they are ever in any way against Stirling Albion you have had it! Seriously though lets hope this 'glitch' gets sorted soon! xxx

My yellow just turned white. I was yellow this morning before I went to the gym. I came back from the gym and viola! I'm a white star. Oh well, it's a good thing that I don't depend on myLot for my main source of income. I'm curious to see how low it will go.

Lol... if I went to the gym, I would have come back red in the face, I don't know about a white star! ha ha It's all back in place now... there must have been a glitch again. It does happen from time to time, but Mylot get it back on keel again pretty quickly. Brightest Blessings for a great day.

Adbux??? Are we confusing you Sacrg? lol. It was just a glitch in the system, as most of us thought. We're getting pretty used to it now, but I thought I'd have a bit of fun whilst Mylot were getting it sorted again. You see... it's back!!! Brightest Blessings for a great day.

LOL! Never thought of it from a football point of view! So does this mean my new yellow star shows my true allegiance to the Canaries of Norwich City!!? Actually - I'm not into football at all, but it may be a possibility. Other than that - just another glitsch in the MyLot system. When I first saw mine I thought it was just mine - now I realise it has happened to everyone!!!

No need to worry about since many people face with such problem.My 9 rated red star changed to yellow and 8 rated one three days ago but currently it has changed the old one again.You should be ready some sort of problems eveytime.Do you ignore your rating and the colour of your star.Do you know what factors are effective in determining rating and colour of star.I think it depends on the degree of nogative or positive approches to your posts.Do you sign or vote the people after reading their posts and replies.If you vote,you could have done favour.
@Darkwing (21583)
25 May 07
Yes, I realise it was nothing to worry about, which is why I decided to laugh about it and have a bit of fun. The star, to my mind, is just an added extra and matters not much to me what number it's on! I do rate people, very often, as you will see if you look down these responses, and yes, I do know what the star denotes. Thank you for your response, Umitcicek, and Brightest Blessings.

I myself am a yellow 8 but I do not really pay any attention to the rating. I just respond the same way I always would. I am not even sure how the ratings are given. Obviously they have something to do with people rating you. So if someone does not like your response, or just wants to drop you down...they can. Hardly seems fair to me. cheers,
@Darkwing (21583)

Well no, if that's the case, it isn't fair, but as you say, it's just an additional encouragement and like you, I don't place any importance on it. I just thought it was a great opportunity to have some fun, amongst the moaning and groaning. I enjoyed myself, and hope you did too.
