Why we are like this?

In the morning we are about to enter in our car to go to our office or any work place. Suddenly we see another car which is far superiour in the quality compared to our vehicle. We think ' One day I will also buy a similar vehicle'
We pass through a new house better than our home. We think ' One day I will build a more better house than this'
In the office we are enteing our cabin. One person passes against us. We think ' I will also buy dresses better than he/she wears'
Immediately sitting in chair, our boss calls us. We enter his cabin. We will begin to think ' One day I will also become a superior officer like him'
But there are vehicles of inferior quality than we use, there are small houses than that of ours, there are people who is not wearing good dresses, there are a number of people who are subordinate to us.
But we do not look at them and always look at people of higher level.
What is the reason?

because we are not contented of what we have and what we arre accomplishing. We strive for more, not a bad habit though, but we must also consider our capability of achieving things others can have. Why we would compare ourselves to someone lesser than we are?
ofcourse we will gain more by seeing others of what they can do, and sometimes eventually serve as our inspiration.
thats human nature actually. Thats where we find our purpose, and never stop the progress and continous development...

YOu are right. We must always look for the strides or progress in our life. There is no limit for our desire in life . But there is one goal called "satisfaction" in our life and we will not be able to regain the real satisfaction in our life, if we go after our desire. But on the other hand if we look around and see the condition of other people, we will get satisfaction more easily and I am having the opinion that that will make us more happy. Thank you for the response.

I cant blame myself coz my mind works that way infact everybodies mind work that way it always look for more things ,more beautiful,more big ,more money,more fame,it never get satisfied with any thing .one should know how to control his mind though thoughts like will arise we have think are u in need of this thing in our life.if a person who has got 4 members in a family may just need a small vehicle ,instead of
big vehicle .our desires should be need based always.if we can live with out that thing it is better .a big car mean more money on insurance,more maintanence ,more fuel,more space to park .same is the case with a house.
