Do you have a custom of taking photograph with someone who has just passed away?

In olden times, we had a custom of taking photograph with the dead and deceased. With all sad and some vigorously sobbing family members flocking around the departed, the profesional photographer used to frame the moment. Ppl used to have it hung on the wall and garland it religiously. I still have such a tinted, black and white photograph of my great grandpa in my possession. It doesn't give a happy feeling to me but brings back fond memories to my father. Since then a lot has changed. and lately i donot remember anyone taking photograph in that grim moment of demise. do you frame the last moment with your departed dear ones? did you have any such custom earlier?

No there is no custom as such on our side of taking photographs of a deceased person. And I personally feel, that taking photograph of a deceased person, along with grieving relatives...does not appear to be appropriate. Because if you happen to see the photographs afterwards, you will again become sad and will lost in the memories.

as i have mentioned, , may be, 3-4 generations ago, this was a rural custom. ppl used to contemplate the memories of the deceased!!! today, i can only shiver and amaze at the morbidity of the custom.
