My eight-year-old daughter starts trying my perfume, but I tell her that it is too young for her to use it but she still insists. Will you allow your child to use the perfume?

My daughter is 9 and has recently expressed an interest in wearing perfume (which is very strange as she is very much the tomboy and proud of it). She really liked my sister perfume and when she left she gave my daughter a bottle of it. WE let her put it on a couple of times (never to school though), and she quickly lost interest and has never mentioned it since.

at most times, children are just curious and will like to try the things that their parents are doing. they are amazed at what their old folks do. then they will be thinking why are they doing all those. once the curiosity is satisfied, they usually stop on their own. this is what happened with your beloved daughter.

Many thanks for both of your views. It is true, children are very curious for everything and that is the way they learn and grow.

I might not allow the kid to use perfume at such an early age but at times feel like if they are in limits in regard to using perfume then I might allow them. I just feel like at that early age kids generally have a feeling to try out so many various things but we are to takecare and provide those at right time n age.

This is one of the reasons I post this question to see all your responses. Thanks for sharing your view.

There is no reason she can't but I'd let her use one that is age appropriate. They sell perfume that is for kids, like Love's Baby Soft. The Olsen Twins have some I think as well, or did when my nieces were that age. Take a look around and I'm sure you'll find the kid sets with perfume and/or body sprays in them that are geared for that age group.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will try my best to find the kid sets to make her dream come true.

You are quite welcome. I do know Wal-Mart sells such things. I think Walgreens and other pharmacies do as well but Wal-Mart has them at better prices. Good luck on finding them.

yes, i will allow my child to use my perfume. i will show her how to use it and how little must be used each time. then i will remind her not to touch it by herself and then explain to her why. she might break it or get to spill some on the floor. it will be such a waste for that to happen to such an expensive item.

Yes!! My daughter is 6 and she has her own body sprays! ther aren;t as strong and smell good, she feels all grown-up when she wears it! My son is t=2 and my husband will spray him when he is gretting ready for work! My son loves it and comes over to me so I can smell him! I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Typical children as they like to imitate everything. LOL

Get her some body spray it not as strong. But still smells good. You can buy travel sizes at walmart for about $2. My daughter is 6 and I let her wear it.

Great idea! Instead of giving the perfume, we can give them the body spray.
