I have been watching American Idol since the first season and up until Wednesday night my favorite performance was Ruben Studdard's rendition of "Imagine" by John Lennon. It was very simple, nicely sung and the orchestra made it stand out even more. That all changed on Wednesday night when I saw Blake Lewis's duet with Doug E. Fresh. The energy that both of them brought to the stage, mixed with the beat boxing was just phenomenal and so different for American Idol. It was so creative! This has now become my favorite performance ever on American Idol. What is yours and why?

Those are both excellent choices. I loved when Ruben did 'Imagine' cause it was such a good performance. But I do also agree that the Blake Lewis/Doug E. Fresh was incredible. For my favorite performance, I would have to go with Chris Daughtry's "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" originally by Bryan Adams. He sung it so perfectly, I actually liked his version better than the original. His style and voice made so much sense for that song.

I remember the hype when he did that song and I agree he did an amazing job! I am really glad to see him become so successful after getting voted out as early as he did.

There are so many really good performances that stand out for me. I think my favorite though, was Ace Young's rendition of "Father Figure". I loved the sound of his voice and the way he looked into the camera. It was like he was singing it just for me! *Sigh*
