Delicious Mushroom Au Gratin Recipe

I love vegetables au gratin. The best known one is potatoes a la gratin! But you can also almost any vegetable this way. Here is a delicious recipe with mushrooms:
1-2 pounds fresh mushrooms
1 teaspoon butter or margarine
1-2 tablespoons oil
1 (16-ounce) container sour cream
1 brick (8 ounces) very sharp cheese (softened and chopped small)
2 tablespoons flour
Bread crumbs to cover mushrooms
Wash mushrooms, cut up stems and slice tops. Melt butter and oil in large frypan. Pour in mushrooms and chopped onions. Sauté until golden to dark brown. Pour off excess oil and butte. Place mushrooms and onions in large casserole dish. In a bowl, mix sour cream, sharp cheese, and flour. Spoon on top of mushrooms. Sprinkle whole top with bread crumbs. Dab with butter. Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes.

Even though it looks really good but can't try as mushrooms aren't that common in this part of the world atleast not in the city where i am ,have only seen some wild mushrooms that grows after rain else there isn't any mushrooms i have seen put on the shop to sell and i think some of them are poisonous aswell right? Anyways can we use potatoes in place of mushrooms or something else? Any alternative to that?

Yes of course! Good idea. You can use potatoes in place of mushrooms. You peel, wash the potatoes. And then you slice them into thin round pieces. And you proceed the same... But I would think that potatoes will take more time to cook.

Yes it happens with everyone i guess as i have seen plenty of people getting no notifications at all even though they have turned it on, as to this your first comment i didn't got notified but got notified for the second one so it happens but still notification is better atleast we get around 70% notifications.

I love mushrooms a lot . i love to make them in different varieties. i have also written a recipe in one of my discussion , it is also of mushroom. i have posted two three recipes personally to some friends on mylot who wanted it from me and contacted me by messaging me. i love to cook and i enjoy reading recipe books in my free time.
