Do you like to experiment with recipes?

I often have to improvize because I get short on groceries at the end of the month. I had some Chex cerial that was stale and I didn't want to waste it. I had the ingredients for meatloaf except for cracker crumbs. The logical thing to do was smash up the cerial and use it. It worked out so well that now the cerial is all i ever use in my meatloaf. Also I have used cocktail sauce instead of catsup. I often substitute ingredients when I am out of something for other recipes. Most of the time it turns out well.
