Have you ever had the craving for breakfast food like pancakes, or cereal or eggs or toast for dinner? Well, I do, a lot. I love having eggs on toast, or a cheese and jam sandwich or french toast for dinner, although normally that is all breakfast food, but it's not like it's a rule is it? I usually skip breakfast, especially since I get up at lunchtime, so I have those delicious otherwise "breakfast foods" for dinner, plus they're really more easier to prepare and make than proper dinner. So tell me, have you ever had breakfast food for your dinner??

Yes, we have breakfast for dinner quite often here. I also find myself ordering breakfast often when we go out to eat in a restuarant. Breakfast foods are a great "pick-me-up" too.

Yeah, same here, there aren't many places here, that serve breakfast any time of day. That would be so great. Pancakes always taste better when it's someone else who makes them and not me, ha ha.

Oooh, I wish we could do that back here! Most of the places I go to don't serve breakfast food after 11am! :(

I probably do breakfast for dinner once or twice a month. Usually it's eggs of some kind, but sometimes I decide I want pancakes or french toast. I also do toast for lunch from time to time.

Yeah, breakfast food is great for the munchies at night, and I guess it might even be healthier in some cases instead of a big huge dinner.

Hmm... sounds like the Scottish breakfast, but it sure does sound like a lot of work, doesn't it... Or maybe that's just me, I am lazy..

Yeah, I have a tendancy of doing this! I like having a bowl of muesli for lunch or sometimes as a nighttime snack, it's just something different and light. I also like eathing things like Shreddies as a snack next to my PC...just a bowl of them dry, a nice healthy snack!

I'm messy too, but I just put a small amount of cereal in a small bowl so there isn't enough to really make a mess.

Yeah, tell that to my mom... Of course, that could also be due to the fact, that I try to avoid any kind of dishes or cutlery if I can. Sometimes I make a whole sandwich and eat it without getting any dish or cutlery dirty...

I love dry cereal too, I take it as a snack usually between lunch and dinner, I have nothing when I'm on the PC, my mom says I'm too messy to have anything around the PC, and sadly I do agree with her on this one.

Yes, I have had breakfast foods for dinner! They are really easy and quick to prepare. One of my favorites that I had for supper a few nights ago was french toast with syrup, and freshly sliced strawberries on top ... it was sooooooooo good!

Thanks, I'll make sure I tried that soon enough, I also heard from one of the responders here that if you have them with pancakes too then you don't even need syrup and it's much healthier too.

I would highly recomend strawberries on french toast. If your in the mood for pancakes with fruit then blue berries are a must! You won't be disappointed, very good!

All the time lol. My household is totally dysfunctional and I never know how many people and animals (yup, animals, this place is like a sanctuary some days) I am going to have to feed or when they will be arriving. I am a fair cook so whatever is required is cooked at that time and if I get lucky and everyone is in breakfast mood, whatever the time of day, my partner does the "short order" stuff as his parents used to run a fast food shop. Lucky me eh?

There is more than one kind of luck, lol. Sometimes it is literally bedlam in here and we just get everyone fed and somebody else turns up! Just lately I have been getting sneaky and cooking extra portions so that they can be frozen and then if somebody turns up it just needs a ding (microwave) lol.

OMG! We're so alike! I love breakfast food too.. There's never a rule you hafta eat breakfast food only during breakfast! And like you, I always wake up by noon so my I really enjoy breakfast food anytime of the day! Only just now I had cereal as a midnight snack! hehe.. There's never a rule of what you can eat, when you wanna eat it right?? ;P

breakfast for dinner? i have dinner for breakfast... sometimes. i am not a firm believer that certain food belongs to a specific hour of the day. eat what you like and you'd be happy.

mm... steak for breakfast, that actually sounds good to me. And I guess heavy stuff like that should be earlier in the day, since you have more time to digest it then. Maybe our whole food system is wrong with heavy stuff right before bed and healthy stuff in the morning. Maybe we should all change our whole food system and have breakfast at night, and dinner in the morning and then snack throughout the rest. Sounds good to me!

both my wife and me loves steak so much so twice per week i would fire up the grill early in the morning and throw in big juicy steaks. yummmm...by noon we both would still be slightly full so we end up eating pancakes or just cornflakes while watching tv.

Seems like you've extended the concept of brunch to brinner. :) I'll occasionally eat cereal in the evening as a snack. Bagels also. Usually, though, I'll want to eat more than this for dinner. Does sausage and egg count as breakfast food? I'll eat that for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Why can't you get an Egg McMuffin at 5pm? (Echoes of Seinfeld again).

Oh yeah, I think Seinfeld was the father of breakfast food any time of day. You'd see Jerry with a bowl of cereal all the time. Well, there are no rules, so we can have breakfast foods any time of day.. I'm really in the mood for eggs and toast now.

Well, I wouldn't say I introduced the concept of brinner, I just brought it up. Apparently, from this discussion, lots of people already do that.

I can eat breakfast foods at any time of the day. I can eggs, pancakes, waffles and anything else at night, morning or afternoon. I love breakfast foods more than other foods actually. Breakfast is almost three times a day for me. I will eat cereal and oatmeal as well. It would be difficult for me to eat dinner food for breakfast though.

Yeah, I love cereal any time of day, it's the best, and they came in so many flavors that you could have a whole weeks dinner just based on cereals, now that's an idea!

yes i do feel of having breakfast food as dinner and opposite as it is.. For me,the type of food that i want to eat does not really care whether its for breakfast, lunch or dinner.Anything can be eaten anytime. The time does not really matter. If i crave for somthing during that time,i will have it.Does not need to wait for lunch or dinner time to eat it.All turn upside down..its okay..as long the food that we eat is fine, nice, tasty and good.

My family always has breakfast for dinner...okay, well not ALWAYS, but it isn't unusual to us. Sometimes my mom makes french toast, sometimes pancakes, maybe bacon and eggs. And sometimes no one wants to cook so we just have a bowl of cereal! :) Whatever! lol

OOhhhh.. If I had my teatime pretty late, I would usually skip my dinner.. But then when I get pretty hungry, I would go downstairs and prepare myself some toast, sandwiches from the leftover dinner or cereal! So that I don't feel like I'm packing too much calories before I go to sleep. People say that it doesn't really make a difference, but at least my conscience is a LITTLE clear.. :)

I guess it's just healthy to have an early dinner instead of skipping it all together, because if you get midnight snacks then it might not digest as fast as a proper early dinner.
