Chess

I'm not bad, but learned early on there are plenty of people better then I if I start bragging. I'm one of those who are a better teacher then a player. I taught two friends to play and over a period of a year, they improved but never really beat me. One guy then entered a chess tournament with I...I thought I had a fair shot at placing, but...I was taken out in the first round. My friend however, took home second place out of 20! And even bet the guy that beat me. A few years later, the same thing happened but his win wasn't so high. One of the guys that beat me (ranked) stated my game was too unorthodox and wildly unpredictable. This isn't a good thing when playing the mathematical types. My daughters are learning, and they like to play with Dad, but I'm not sure if its just the parental thing, or if they would actually like to play with others.
