Do you donate blood?

I am affraid of needles, yet I consider it my duty to donate blood. I know that my country is not self sufficiant in blood, and that many operations have to be cancelled due to lack of blood. Blood canot be made artificially, and can only be stored for approx 6 weeks. Therefore hospitals are in constant need of blood donations from people. Do you donate blood? And if you don't, what is your excuse?
