The usage of petrol is very high is there is any new thing in future to replace

Now a days petrol usage has been very high. With out petrol there no machine can work or no automobile can and run. We cannot think about that even without petrol. Do we have any other solution in future . Is there any thing new in order to replace petrol. How long petrol will be there.

I think the best way to reduce the usage of petrol , is to reduce the usage of high advance technology yea ..... Why drive a car when you can just take walk to the next street ? I think gorvement should look upon putting heavy tax on car user ... so that they could minimise the use of cars
