Diabetes is very rampant nowadays. But i've read the news that the stem cells take from the umbilical cords of the newborns can be engineered to produce insulin and may someday be used to treat diabetes, U.S. and British researchers reported last Friday. I hope it is true so that they can help alot of people suffering from this kind of disease. Any ideas?

Research has shown that stem cells can be used to cure a lot of diseases-- Diabetes,Alzeihmers,Parkinsonism,, to name a few. The studies are still in the research phase but the indications are quite promising. The stem cell banks are already being established to collect stem cells from placentas.
