I'm just wondering how many of you will be going off somewhere this summer, maybe the beach, maybe the mountains, are you staying in your own country, or are you going abroad?? Will you take one long trip or several shorter ones? Do you get paid vacation or do you have to take an unpaid vacation? Are you perhaps visiting far away friends or family?

I am planning my time off maybe around September; I work for myself, so I am always taking unpaid vacations... During the summer, I am going to visit local Lake Michigan beach and travel during some weekends... I will probable visit Michigan and Tennessee for few days...

I lived in California for 20 years and never made it over the Rockies. I always wanted to though. I'd love to see the rest of the States someday...

We are going to LONDON first time this summer. So we are very excited even though its mainly a conference tour still we will have two free days to see london. I tried my best to get good information on what to see and what to do in LONDON. I got a 2 for 1 Madame Tussaude voucher. But if anybody here know some good deal for attraction tickets or any other promotion, opinion about places must see etc then please post it. I will be happy to get more information. i want to make it 100% success. Will leave on 9th June,07. Thanks

My job takes me around the world for long stints, so I usually take lots of shorter vacations when I'm in another country. Since I get 30 days of vacation time a year (paid), I try to use it to the fullest. When I retire, I don't want to travel abroad anymore, but will concentrate on seeing the US and Canada to the fullest extent possible. This year, is strange. I'm apart from the family for a full year. Right now, they are in Hawaii doing lots of nice things but without me. But, after my year is up...we move to the UK. Great opportunity for travel and vacations.

One one hand I guess it would be cool to have a job like that, seeing the world, but on the other I can't imagine not seeing my family for such a long period. Still doesn't sound like you have a boring life, and that's good.

i've just came back from my vacation in hong kong! loved it, it was awesome! a bit tiring because we had to walk here and there, but fun, nonetheless. it was around 3 and a half hours from my country to hong kong, by plane. i'm planning to go for a weekend break at an island here in my country in july..am also planning to go to singapore and siam reap within this year, hopefuly. and if i have some extra time and money, hopefully will get to go for another vacation at the end of the year! (haha, dreaming. if only!)

I'd love to see Hong Kong or any other place that is so different from what I'm used to. Just to have an adventure and learn about another culture. Sounds like you had a good time

For me ,i want to stay at home, because this summer is very hot ,today temperatuer is 37.1 C in my city .every one wants to stay at home .at other place of our country it is similar.the weather is bad ,and if you go to anther place of this summer the costs is very high ,because the gas price becomes to rise ,it will add the cost . I want to go to anther country ,but i have not enough money ,as every one knows ,in anther country ,you must pay for everything ,if you have not enough money ,so stay at home with friends .of course,if someone pays for cacation ,go !

yes it always costs so much to go on vacation, so I think we'll try to take a couple of short trips only, maybe go camping, drive down to Italy for the weekend or so. It just costs to much to go somewhere for 4 weeks having to pay for hotel, food, gas, fun etc.

I'm not sure about a "vacation", but I may be doing some traveling as early as October (so not quite the summer). I am trying to join the Peace Corps, and if all goes smoothly I will be somewhere in the Pacific at some point in October.

oh dear, i have just been on vacations around 20 days back. I have been to the himalayas in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. I dont think I would be able to afford one more vacation this year. Next year, definitely yes.

I am traveling to Scotland in about a month for a friends' wedding. I am only going for a week but I still can't wait! I will also probably take another week and go to upstate NY with my boyfriend for another short week vacation.

I will remain in my country and I will go for a long period (at least two months) to the sea. I'm also going to visit some relatives that I see rarely.

Yes,I will go off shanghai in my summer vocation to travel.I have arranged this plan at the beginning of this year.I want to broaden my horizon, furthermore, shanghai is the city which I like best. It's so modern and beautiful and romatic. In my summer vocation,I intend to visit shanghai and the arounded cities, such as hangzhou, nanjing, suzhou and so on.Maybe it's not a quite right time to visit, but as to a student,it's hard to find another time to have a so long-time travelling.Of course,it's unpaid vocation and I decide to go to travel alone, after all,I'm an adult now.
