"tampo" in english is to sulk. sulk - to remain silent or hold oneself aloof in a sullen, ill-humored, or offended mood. ?

i think there's no exact equivalent of the term 'tampo' in English dictionary. However, it can be expressed in several ways. Among the Filipinos, it is noticed that when you are hurt because you were ignored you may show 'tampo' by not talking to people, locking one's self inside the room or refusing to eat when you are called.

then why do you still have to look for a PERFECT word to fit for the term 'tampo' when you were given already the closest word for it which is 'sulk'? why make things so very complicated...i just can't understand people sometimes. i don't mean to be rude with anyone.

Im sorry i thought your looking for opinion on that word.. My bad Tampo o Magtampo : Sulk or to sulk (ex. nagtampo si Dolores/Dolores sulked) Sulk : To be sullenly aloof or withdrawn, as in silent resentment or protest
