I would imagine, that an internet owner is non-existant. Plus, seeing as how it is a world wide network of connected computers and web accesable hardware, it would be quite impossible to even imagine how you could wonder about a single entity having total control over the internet, also know as the www a.k.a world wide web. But it is possible that I am wrong.

I do believe that one of the earliest forms of communication that was used mainly by american armed forces was what we now call the internet, although this modern form of the internet was nothing like what was used back all those years ago for communication within the armed forces. I may be wrong but i do remember reading it somewhere that the internet was first used by armed forces and mainly from america.
