Where did the money come from?

I am not sure whether do you know where does the money come from to pay their members in online money business like mylot, cashcrate, etc. Cashcrate is needless to say because it has companies placing their ads for cashcrate members. Mylot doesn't seem to be in favour of companies to sponser the running of mylot. Is mylot a government sponsored website?
