What is the criteria to get my discussion's in Today's hot discussuion section?

I just want to know how a discussions comes to Today's hot discussion section? 1. Should it have many responses? 2. Or does it depend upon the topic? I have never seen my discussion under this section. Can any user see his/her own discussion under this section? want answers from u all.

1. yes you should have many response.. to do that you should answer back those who responded to your post, so that your post will become atop again and get noticed.. 2. topic is also a major factor, if anybody loves your topic then the most likely they will respond to it..
