Is english the global language?

i think its depend on location.i rather speak chinese in china,english in us,and malay in my country.i admit there is advantage for more language spoken,but i have no intereasting for some countries language.

as far as im aware, French is the global language, there are more countires that speak french that there are english speaking! take for example, how many countries do u know of, that have some places in their own country, that dont speak there language???? i know in England, there are a few counties that dont speak English at all, infact they speak chinese, asian and Polish! can u say the same fro france or germany or anyother nation for that matter?

English , beyond doubt is the universal language used for effective communication on a global level. it is unparalleled in the sense that it is being understood by th largest number of people across different cultures in the world.

I think there is a lot of Spanish speaking people in this world. Lots of them in South America. And there is many French speaking nations. There are many Chinese but Chinese is not such a popular language outside of China, mainly for the symbols they use. Same applies for Arabic or Russian. Spanish and French is used so much because of the colonies they once had. English is not the global language but it is the business language. And it is the main language for computers.
