Autobiographies!

Okay I need some help from people that have been publishing articles on Associated Content for awhile. Through researching my family history. I have come across a Autobiography that my great great great grandfather wrote about his life in prison and a mental institute. I got it from a distant cousin but it has never been published. I would like to publish it on AC but not sure if I can since it was written by my great great great grandfather and he is no longer around to do it himself. Does anyone know if I can publish it and how I go about doing it? It is a really fascinating story that I think people would really enjoy reading. I tried email AC and asking them but that was several days ago and I have yet to hear back from them. Please help!

autobiographies are source of marketing themselves . people boast and later stages want other people to speak bout them . if they have lived a renowned life then people will remember their deeds always . then why need a written script?

I belong to Associated Content but I haven't published anything in a long while. I don't see why you can't publish the autobiography on his behalf. It's very few folks who can share something from their great great great grandfather.I say go ahead and publish it.

I have decided to publish it. Right after I posted this discussion, AC finally replied back to my email saying that they would accept it. It's 15 (5 x 8) pages long, so I just need to find the time to sit down and type it. Can't wait to see what people think about it.

That's great. I'm sending you a private message. I'd love to read it when you publish it.

It looks like you have already got your answer back from AC on this one, but I just wanted to say that it does sound like it would be an interesting story.

From what I remember when I used to write a lot for AC, "memoirs" are a class of article that they will not publish for pay. You could submit your great great grandfather's autobiography for the no-payment option, but I would recommend looking around elsewhere for a publication venue. I know that there are some sites that do look for memoirs / personal experiences, I just don't know the name or URL of any of those.

You know the funniest thing happened right after I posted this discussion. I would say with in 5 minutes of posting this discussion. I finally recieved a email from AC and they stated that they would accept it and to publish it under Society, people category. They just asked that I mention at the top of the article that it was written by my great great great grandfather and the year he wrote it. But thanks for your input. If by chance you find any other sites that will pay for memoirs please pass the info on to me. I will be making this article non-exclusive so that way if I decide to try to publish it into a book I will have the option to do so.
