Oh god yes! LOL My most recent job (that I had to quit to have my baby anyway), actually hired me on the spot when I came in to fill out an application (I should have known then!), and then when I came in the next day to start, I had to go into the back office to fill out all my paperwork and everything, and the manager's like "Oh, you have your nose pierced? I didn't notice that yesterday...did you have a smaller one in then?" Um, no. I have an itty bitty teeny tiny little stud in it that you can barely see, and it's clear! LOL She said I may have to take it out because of the "neighborhood" where the job was located, but I left it in and never brought it up...until it became "OK" to have since the owner's daughter got one. Ridiculous.

Some employers still discriminate as to hair, piercings, tattoos, weight, age, and gender. Even though it is illegal in the USA we still have discrimination. Intelligent employers will not discriminate but some co-workers will.

Any sensible employer will look for good execution of job, minimal courtesies rather than looking into personal things. Of course there are some companies where they insist on discipline in dress code and behaviour. This would have been told before taking a person for a job, therefore it is very essential one follows it.
