Ok violet ! Its really nice to know that youngster are very eager to learn at the earlier stage of the carrier. Becos I wasnt like that in my college days. Any way thats a different story ! This RFID system have 2 blocks. One is the RFID Tag and the second a Reader/Writter. The RFID tag contains a micro chip which may be ROM/Writtable type of memory. Thats how its unique from others. the second part of the RFID Tag is the antenna, which is mainly a copper wire wound for the required frequency of operatioin (LF or HF). This is antenna design varies from chip to chip. Thats what we do at our labs. India is not known for manufacturing these RFID Chips. We import from Philips, EM electronics, Atmel, Infineon etc., We then develop the antenna couple them to the chip and make the tag. Now your tag is ready. The other portion is your reader. You can buy a readymade reader for your chip. It mainly contains a signal generator, decoder and the linked softwares. using the software we can write in the chip/ read the unique ID of the chip. Thats the concept behind RFID Technology. Now these tags can be placed on your assets or on doors for private assesing etc., It has very big advantages over barcodes.! would you like to know ? regards, Maha
