Promises...promises! Are these really made to be broken? Do you always get promises from people and it ends up broken? Do you give out promise(s) to other people and do it for real?...or do you also tend to break your promise(s)? How do you make up for those broken promise(s)?

People have broken to many promises that I've realized a promise is only a comfort zone. Unless I know I'm going to keep my promise then I'll promise. But I know most times, keeping a promise is almost impossible. My husband and family and even friends have broken their promises they've made to me. Why say, I promise if a promise is nothing but a lie.

This has been a CONSTANT thorn in my side because I'm hopelessly surrounded by people who make promises and then break them. I work VERY hard not to be this kind of person because I really can't stand when it happens.

"I Promise" Is just 2 words to make someone feel better about the situation. Unfortunately that is all they are words. Based on past behavior of others you can tend to see whether or not they can be trusted with those words. Some people use them loosely while others respect their meaning. I do not promise unless I know 100% the promise can be fulfilled. Some people on the other hand throw the words around and couldn't care less

you have a point there that some people use the "i promis" too often and they tend to care less about it as time goes by...thanks for sharing.
