My stepson snores really loudly and often awakens with a jerk several times a night. He and his wife sleep in different bedrooms as a result, but their marriage still seems to be going strong. It's sad though -- sleeping (really sleeping, I mean! LOL!) together is truly one of the joys of long term relationships for me.

My husband can sleep through pretty much anything and even when he does wake up , he never remembers the next day so I don't feel bad when he does wake up .
I wake up much easier and wake up everytime he comes to bed and most mornings when he gets up to go to work but I don't have to worry about getting up as early as him and it isn't his fault so I don't mind .
I would hate if my husband wanted to sleep on the couch just because I find it hard to sleep when he is not there but he will do this when he gets the flu because he doesn't want to make me sick . I think the idea behind it is genuinely sweet but I still miss him and always tell him that if I am going to to get sick then I will weather he is in bed with me or not .
