Red light, Yellow light, Green-a-light go?

If you've ever heard the Def Leppard song, "Pour Some Sugar on Me" you likely recognize that line. It's something that's always puzzled me – after all, doesn't the yellow light come before the red? :) Maybe someone can clarify why the line is like that?
