Do you give yourself time to think before sending IM's?

Whenever I'm having a conversation on AIM or Myspace, there will be times when I have to think before I respond. I don't have a problem with conversations, but its just that I need to be thoughtful sometimes on when I'm typing. This happens especially when I'm talking to a girl I like(but not always). Other times I don't need to stop and think so the conversation is natural. Does this happen to you?
