Should Eating cat, dog or horse meat be illegal in the USA?

My friends and I were discussing tonight, on if we thought that Eating, Cats, Dogs, or horses should or should not be illegal to do in the USA. And our reasons behind it. I personally, Stand that as long as the animal they are eaten is healthy and not stolen, and if it is not illegal to do. I do not care of they are eating Cats, Dogs, or horses. I would however prefer if they did that, they were able to used healthy innadoptable animals from shelters, that were going to be put down.. Now this is not to say that I do not love, Cats, dogs, and horses, as I care for all three, as my loving companions pets and family. However, I do believe that allowing such, would cater to the people who are familiar with eating these types of meat, and can help end some of the hunger problems in the US, and the world abroad. This is why I am pro- allowing people to Eat any meet they want, as long as it is not stolen, not on the endangered species list, and not human. This is also not about me encouraging people to run around eating cats dogs, and horses.. the truth is many people in many cultures have done this for 100's and thousands of years, to survive. - DNatureofDTrain
