YOUR Interpretation of the MyLot Guidelines...

After reading through yet another heated discussion in which teh words "mylot guidelines" have been flung around one too many times for my liking I got to thinking. Why do people feel they can take bits and pieces of mylots guidelines and interpret them to suit their own ends? For example; "Flaming a mylot user" does not include questioning religions or aspects of certain religions- any religions. If someone is so offended by another member questioning their religion, what are they trying to hide? or are too ashamed to discuss openly on a discussion forum? At the end of the day I believe the guidelines are kept quite general to allow for freedom of speech. Not everythign need be censored. And people needn't be so sensitive about certain issues. It is my opinion that if you can't discuss an issue, or listen to a contrasting opinion on an issue than a public discussion forum like myLot is NOT the place for you. What does everyone else think? Are people here way too sensitive and only wish to talk about rubbish rather than REAL issues so as not to offend or be offended?

Hey megs! You know as well as I do that there are religious discussions on here that get so nasty it amazes me these people can actually call themselves religious with a straight face. They call each other vile names, tell people they're going to hell (like they suddenly became worthy to judge others, HA!), etc. I swear I've seen some that if the 3 or 4 people were in a room together it would be a knock down drag out fight. When it comes to religious fanatics they have no clue how to have a civil discussion, they're right and you're wrong.. PERIOD. You are not allowed to go unscathed unless you agree with them. It's fairly pathetic, sad and very intolerant of them. You're right though questioning and challenging someones view on any subject should not be considered "flaming". Disagreeing with someone should not be "considered "flaming" either. So many can dish it out but can't take it. Personally I try to do the same on myLot as I do in my daily life. I do not discuss religion or politics with anyone. I don't feel the need to justify my beliefs or condemn anyone else's.

I guess those people are just trying to show that they can follow rules and everyone else should be doing the same.
