Hi there mylotters!! My sister is getting married this August and now, we're all on the planning stage of that very special day. Part of our preparation is of course, about the wedding invitation - we want the invitation to be very presentable. I have uploaded a photo of our sample invitation (maybe it would be better if you could see it full size). The scroll will be placed inside this box with a ribbon. I am actually trying to fetch some comments. What do you think of this wedding invitation? Do you think it's OK? Please do share your thoughts. Every comment will be taken constructively. In advance, thanks for being part of improving this invitation!!

I think it's very creative, but I'd be concerned about the cost of mailing them. And, how will the response cards be handled? Usually they're placed in a smaller envelope inside the invitation's larger envelope. Also, do you plan on handing these out since they're bound with ribbon?

Hi there explorations! Thanks for that comment. Actually, all of the invitations need not be mailed because the couple have the intention of bringing them to the guests personally. I just dont know much about some of their other plans related to your query. But thanks again, at least you confirmed that it doesnt look corny or what. LOL

I think that they are very elegant. I would love to get an invitation like that to a wedding. As you stated that some will be hand delivered~ this is a great idea. I wouldn't change a thing.

I think that is sooo cool. I read some of your other responses, that the paper would be parchment and a soft green. I think it is perfect and so unique. For the ones that will have to be mailed, they could go in an envelope that has bubble wrap in it. It would be nice to see the finished invitation.

i think it's an original and beautiful invitation. Of course it will be a lot more expensive than ordinary invitations because of the boxes, ribbons etc you'll have to purchase and if there are some that can't be delivered, it will cost more in postage and also you run the risk of having the boxes crushed in the mail. Other than that I think it's a beautiful invation and yuo've inspired me to think outside the square for my wedding invitations!

vesuvius I think that they are very nice, but did you think about the shiping cost of haveing to mail them out. You will need more than a stamp. I got married two years ago and I spent over 100.00 just in stamps to get them mailed out.

The wedding invitation is terrific!it is very creative and artistic. I like that kind of wedding invitation because it is very unique and something different. I like the ribbon you put also because it is complimented the box of the scroll. It means that the ceremony is very creative and hands-on, your guest will surely be delighted with this kind of invitation, they will feel special because you really made those scrolls stylish and unique. Go with it!

I think this invitation is cute but I don't know how much each invitation will cost you. When I got married, i have a very limited amount of money because I focused more on the reception. Anyways, I did one thing that is also unique at the same time also creative and economically friendly. YOu know the acetate paper that we use on projectors? Ok, that's it. I printed the invitation there on that transparent paper and I draw a picture of a man and woman sitting on the sunset beach (i made it in paint only). Then I have rolled this transparency paper and wrapped it with a lilac ribbon (which is our wedding motif)...so everytime I distribute this invitation, i instruct them to read it on the walls...so they can see what's written there...

I think that this invitation is a great and one of a kind idea. The only thing that your sister should consider is the fact of the colors of the wedding. When i did my invitations i made sure that they where lavender and off shite. That was the color that we did everything for my wedding and it was so beutiful. So if the olive green and white is the colors of her wedding then you have a wonderful idea. I only wish that when i did my invitations that i was able to think about something like this. I wish all the best on her happy day.

I think it's very grand, most invitations are in card form. The box that hold your invitation seemed very exquisite and add a classic flair. The gold color you use suits and completed its look. Congratulations on your good, artistic and unique taste!
