Most of the discussion that I start here are of a sarcastic or tongue in cheek nature but that doesn't seem to stop people from responding with deathly serious answers. I think I'm going to have to implement a tagging system within my posts such as SARC at the beginning and end of the sarcastic part of my discussion. And while I'm on the subject aren't we all getting a little tired of using LOL and ROFLMAO to indicate that we find something funny? Here are some new ones that I think we should incoroporate here SCUM...Spewed Coffee Upon Monitor LUMPS...Laughed Until My Poop Sprayed GLAD....Giggling Like A Demon PISH...People, I'm Screaming Hysterically LLAMA...Laughing Like A Mad Animal

Sarcasm - Sarcasm the greatest for of wit.
I must admit I do love reading the banal responses people make on such sarcastic discussions I tend to LLAMA. I am so glad I appreciate sarcasm as it is such a great release from all the mundane things in life we have to put up with. I have been a bit naughty and taught my kids sarcasm from an early age. Even my sons nursery teacher told me one day she loved my son because he understood it. I do it with the kids I work with and some get it and some just get confused!! I hope its not a dying art. So please keep them coming, you, jimbo and alfieklondyke are kings on mylot for some great discussions. By the way I have a new one as well PIMP-Piss In My Pants, as I can relate to this one quite often!!!

SCUM, LUMPS, GLAD Loved the abbreviations. In fact, had to read them out loud to everybody in the room. As to the sarcasm, since we have so many people on the site for whom English is not the native tongue, I think they just don't get the sarcasm. Others may just read the title and respond to that. I love your postings, especially the sarcasm and wit. If some people don't get it, that's their loss.

PISH. Although i feel a little weird being a grown man typing PISH. LOL okay i just had to add that. It's been my experience that people that don't understand sarcasm and irony in their everyday communications with "real" people, definitely are NOT going to understand it in the written word part of our days. But you have to admit, sometimes it's funny to see that deadly serious response to a discussion that you wrote with a twinkle in your eye.

Half the fun of reading your posted discussions IS the ever-so-humorous sarcasm. The other half is seeing the deathly serious responses! Why do anything? It is a riot and so entertaing. Often it is the brightest part of my day! (yeah, I lead a fairly dull life)As for your new acronyms, they have been recorded and will be of use in future posts!

I see from another one of your posts that you've already put the actonyms to use....I've actually become quite intent on making those a part of Mylot now...I am regularly using LLAMA and just waiting for all the comments asking what the heck it means

On other forums, I would put italics to great use in conveying sarcasm. As in "Oh, now [italics]that[/italics] was a useful response" Even non-English speakers usually could get the sarcasm then. But if there's a way to do that here, I haven't found it yet. PISH for a way to use italics!
