Thanks. How old are your boys? Mine are 2 and 3. Whenever I say that I "homeschool" them...I get hollered at and told that Im parenting. So I quit saying that!

Mine are 1 and 3. Some people make rude remarks because they're not "school aged' yet. But I tell them that we're life learners, I've been their parent and teacher since the moment they were born. After all i taught them to walk and talk. LOL

If you are considering it do it. I belive alot like lillake and think I have been my kids best teacher since birth. I made the mistake of public school, and will never make that mistake again. It turned in to really more work for me to make sure they were learning what they needed to learn as the school sure wasn't making that happen. My children are now 10, 8, and 7 and they all love homeschooling. We partipate in homeschool gym at the YMCA, and and art class at an art studio for Homeschoolers. They get to go on trips that they wouldn't get to go on if in PS that turn into learning adventures that they will never forget. They learn by reading and writing but also by doing and seeing. Homeschoolers are now even getting more opportunities than what they had before. IVY League colleges are searching them out, because of higher SAT scores and most learn to be self learners at a young age and are more likely to finish college. Did you all see this years Spelling Bee Champion was a homeschooled student? This win makes the 6th year in a row a homeschooled student has won.

I home school my children. They are ages 16 and 10 and this is like our 4th year of home schooling and we love it. I also work out of the home so we are busy but I am so thankful that I took them out of school. They learn so much more about life this way!!

I do not homeschool now because my daughter is grown but I did from the time she was in fifth grade to graduation. I did homeschool my grandchildren, one in preschool and one in kindergarten for a year. If I had young children now I would definitely homeschool them. If I can answer any questions just pm me.

I just did a post asking who homeschooled there kids. Should have searched 1st....lol I am going to homeschool my 13 yr old this coming year due to being in all kinds of trouble at school and being expelled 9 days before school got out. I have heard it is hard on the parents, but I guess I will find out. I have an online virtual school that we will be using. We go to there town in Aug for orientation and they give us all the books we need. All work is done online. My son is excited to do it, so I think it will work out for both of us. Good luck in your homeschooling! ;)

My oldest was home schooled from grade 6 through graduation last year. My daughter was home schooled for 4th and 5th grade, but is now is public school for several reasons the only one that matters imo is that it's the better "fit" for her. My youngest (about to turn 5) has been HSed since birth. We're in Massachusetts btw- it'd be such a cool coincidence to find other local homeschoolers here.

Honestly, I do not homeschool my children back in Singapore. Till I am in US, I never know that the preschool is so expensive. BTW, my boys are 5 & 6 respectively. Prior my youngest boys went 5 this years. I have homeschool him since last year november when we arrived here. I have set a time-table for him. The lesson is about an hour a day which is contain of English, Math, art or Chinese. We will have outdoor activities like swimming twice a week. Every weekday, I will bring my boys to the park to play with other kids. Here're some of the link that have lot printable activities for different level. http://www.starfall.com/ http://www.earlychildhoodlinks.com/teachers/handwriting.htm http://www.aplusmath.com/Flashcards/index.html http://www.homeschoolmath.net/worksheets/

We have been homeschooling for almost 3 years now and my only regret is that I didn't know about homeschooling sooner. It has been THE BEST!! My kids are 16yo, 13yo, and 4 1/2yo. It's so much fun to watch all of their different learning styles and personalities. My oldest two kids say they had "borg syndrome" while in PS because everyone just wanted to be like everyone else and fit in. Now they are their own people and do what interests THEM without worry of what other kids might think. It makes me so extremely proud of them. The youngest has been homeschooled from birth and already I'm realizing the difference between him at this age and his older siblings when they were the same age.
