i have used Vista n i am sure it will never reach the heights XP did... first of all u got to have the nescessary components in ur machine as they have set very high requirements standards..n i am sure it wont be affordable for all... next comes the features..nothing too new u c..there IE7 n WMP11 in it..n some security stuffs.. Wat can really impress u is the graphics...i am sure they hired some Game developers team to do the graphics part..lol..the blend of directx 10 n the glass effect can really be a treat u ur eyes...However in order to make it just look good they unnescesarily made the system requirements grow.. For me VISTA IS ALL BOUT LOOK GOOD N NOTHING NEW...

I recently got a high end notebook it was shipped with vista, took some time, but now i find vista to be the coolest OS. This is why:: :: THE User Interface matters to a common person n all i can say is its really friendly and feel is superb. :: The network connections which were a trouble in XP are resolved, now vista provides much easier access to Wi-fi , bluetooth etc. :: The best thing i like about Vista is its Search engine, MS has provided some faster indexing and cool searching in vista...just type n voila here it is...(similar to that of MAC OS) :: The aero which is the most popular thing said about vista is not much of a use. If u think otherwise post here. :: My system never crashed, however there are some creepy Close the program messages, but a real improvement over XP. :: Support for various devices, in xp i always had to install the driver companion cd to run my hardware, but in vista till date i was never asked to install a drivers. Something worth consideration. :: Well organization of files(music, videos, etc) :: Nice games shipped with Vista (esp Chess Master) But here are some -'ves: :: You need to have a high end features under the hood, i got 2 Gb but still im not that happy with the performance.... :: For the best feel of Vista u need to have graphics +256 Mb. Puts an extra price to the machine. :: No MY computer now...its just Computer takes some time to remember. i can write more...lets see what other say...

Ya i m still using XP.we r much more familier to XP than new VISTA...but men it came to me that VISTA is more complicated OS than XP....Though it is more beautiful but it requires more hardware which is its WEAK point....and i think so that VISTA will not be so popular like XP...

I'm still using XP. And the only reason behind this is that my computer doesn't have the hardware requirements needed to run VISTA. Otherwise i would've shifted over to it aas soon as it came. The reason is simple as the technologies advance so do the operating systems. So, Vista is also going to be much smarter than XP and also user-friendly. Everything new that comes under the Windows banner always has something new to offer to us.

Yes. Vista is more advanced than XP , as it should be becuase it is the enhanced version of XP. But you should also keep inmind that, Vista needs more Hardware power than XP. You can just visit the windows vista site to know the minimum recommended hardware, with which XP can do a lot. But as such, Vista may take more time to get familiar among the user, since many applications available now are not yet compatible with the Vista. I personally recommend to wait for few more months before upgrading to Vista. But Im sure Vista will rock the world, once more applications are available, just like XP did that to Windows2k. All the best.

Im using both XP and Vista 64bits. Vista is graphically more appealing but there are still limited drivers available so i think you should probably waith a little longer before upgrading if you have only used computer since XP.
