My sister became a mom last 2003. The govenment hospitals here in the Philippines now requires every mother giving birth to breast feed their child. My mother told us that she tried to breast feed all of us. unfortunately none of us liked her milk. So after a month or weeks, she would give us the commercial milks available in the market. Luckily we were not that sickly. They said that breast feeding can make the child more healthier that the supplementary milk commercially available. A newly born baby, being breast feed by a mother, will be able to drink the natural antibotic from the lactated milk of the breast of the mother. My sister was lucky enough to give breast feed to my lovely niece. But because of her work, she only had it for 6 months. At present, there is a law in the Philippines requiring every offices to have a breast feeding area. It is where employees who have infant children can do the feeding while at work. I am not medically inclined person, but I hope someone enlightens me about this thing. Why is it that the milk of my mother does not satisfy us, her children before? Do you think the law is beneficial?

Good for your sis-n-law my friend. If I'll be having a family and a child I would also love to do it. My sister have done it. What I do, since her baby girl before cannot consume all her milk, we pump it and then I use it to wash my face. LOL. God bless you my friend!

its because babies must be eating solid food when they reach the age of 6months,mother's milk can always be there to support the kids nutrition but not to be its food entirely.from 6 months onward they should be eating more of solids and adding milk for sustenance.anyway philippines law is good only when they remember it but after a few weeks of imposing it they will forget it until somebody remind them of it again.

Some babies starts to eat solid at 4 months old. Yes it is true that the milk of the mothers can support the nutrition of every newly born babies. I think you are right. Most of the time, laws are not implemented but forgotten. Only recalled when there are accidents or incidents. Thanks for responding my friend. GOd bless!
