We visited the orphanage yesterday, and was touched by the children's response

I was there to visit the orphans - This is one of our apostolates, to visit the "lost, the least, the last..." I find joy in seeing the happy faces of these unwanted children...it's good that a priest voluntarily "adopted" these children under his care. Of course he needed funds to finance the survival and education of these more than 40 or more children. I just hope that we can help the priest source for funds to assist in the children's needs. One of the children has physical and mental abnormalities because she was found abandoned in one trash can at a mall. She was barely alive. This, and many other stories really touched my heart. Hope that there will be people who are kind enough to help these children.

I brought my student leaders to an orphanage to visit the more than 40 children there under the care of a priest; the children were so excited having us around. We prayed with them, danced with them, told stories, cuddled them, made them feel happy, ate with them. There were a few orphans who hugged us simply out of delight, or out of need for attention. Imagine my joy and sense of fulfillment having made these children happy. Some of them have been rejected by their mothers, some left in public places, others were abandoned for one reason or the other. Each child has a "story" to tell....my heart goes for these children who are unwanted by their parents. One child is physically and mentally defective. She was abandoned by her mother in a trash can in a mall. She was barely alive. It's good that this priest took her. Now she is 9 years old, but evidently abnormal because of the post-birth trauma she experienced. We pledged to continue to visit these children in the months to come. And praying that people who have the resources can help these children who need to survive and go to school. The Lord says: "Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you also do it unto me..."What about you? What is your source of joy? Have you also done something like this?

My mother adopted a little boy at one year old eight years ago. He could not walk or do anything a typical one year old could do. He has blossomed into a beautiful little boy who is so intelligent and loving. He has come so far. There are so many other children out there than need help. That need love to help them get by.

God bless y'all for sharing your lives and time with these precious children. It is a shame how they have been abandoned but it is so great that they have a place to be taken care of. We will be praying for all of them and you too.
