Colouring agent in food !

I understand that adding colouring agent to food in hotels, does not contribute taste into food. But it can bring ulcer, cancer , allergy and some other health disorders.Then why these hoteliers add colouring agent to foods? Inorder to serve the food with attraction they use this colouring agents.There are health inspectors to monitor into these hotel foods.If they knew colouring agents cause diseases, why not they ask hoteliers to do away without colouring foods? These colouring agents are also injected into some fruits like water melon,pomegranate etc to make them bright to increase sales. One of my friend suffered with allergy related problem because of consuming food with colouring agent.After taking some cauliflower fries in a hotel he suffered some reddish allergy rings all over his body expect his face.Then he visited a specialist and had treatment.He was advised not to take this kind of foods. I think most of us are aware of this colouring agent in our food taken outside home.Have you ever incurred health disorder due to this?

Yes, a very good discussion. Using artificial colour (be it edible) is always a very dangerous proportion. I try to avoid buying coloured eatables.....but sometimes I cannot held buying that due to choice of kids or due to any other reason.

Colouring agent is not only used in hotel food but in all other things like juices,jams,sauce & all other stuffs.actually they are permitted colours i guess.What your friend got was i think use of toxic colours or oil.actually everything from colours to preservatives can cause various diseases.Once i had severe allergy by eating icecream from a vendor.It was really serious & needed a traetment for many days.
