Do you think crime in your area is going up or down and what do you think would be the reason for either?

Since we are moving to modernization, city is developing, so is the urbanization, and the movement of people into the city......I tink all this has led to an increase in crime in our area......I stay in Jaipur(India).....which was a very quiet city few years back........but now the crime rate has increased very much...

A trend repeated here as well. One would hope that the more people, the more collective good. That I'm afraid would be naive.

I think there is no place in this whole world, where crime rate is decreasing. Can you suggest me a place, where there is a decrease in crime rate?

I believe that the crime rate in America is going up more and more every day. A lot of the problem is due to the fact that children have no respect for authority anymore and they are raising themselves as the moms are single and have to work or the family has to have two incomes to make ends meet. Look at the time that women started working out side of the home and you will see an increase in crime throughout that time. Also, kids know that the parents can't punish them much or they can go to the authorities and claim abuse and they will be gone out of the home.

Would you then say that govt. meddling in family affairs should shoulder some for this as they pas the laws we must all live by?

There is hardly any crime in the area I live in and what there is , is nothing major . Children getting out of hand and the worst that you have to worry about is that they might steal something from you . So I wouldn't say that crime in our area is getting any worse or any better but in our nearby city it is getting much much worse . We are hearing of horrible acts of murder and other horrible things that you wouldn't have heard about a few years ago .

In my area according to police reports burglary figures have increased. Yet unemployment has lowered so I would not think the jobless people are doing them. The main culprit in my eyes is smack and this is becoming the same for most towns/cities these days....... And like every where else in the UK alchohol related incidents have supposedly risen alot lately and talk has been of banning happy hours.
