Do you call your S/O by his/her first name? My husband hates it when I call him by his first name (which makes it even more fun to do it often.) He calls me the good old generic "Honey" (he calls me other things too, some that cannot be posted..lol). I call my kids "sweetie" because they are sweeties to me. My oldest calls me every different variety of the name mom that he can come up with (even in different languages). While my youngest just sticks with Mom. What are the pet names that you have for your children or S/O, and what do they call you?

I usually call him Hun or Old Goat and he usually calls me Hun or Pookie. As for kids, my Niece and Nephew call me Aunt Tina. Our foster kids all called me Tina or Mama T except 2, our gay foster son called me Mommy and our 5 year old foster kid started calling me Mama just before they took her. !!HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

We use each other's real names so infrequently that it actually is special when we do....lol.....at least to me. I call him honey, sweetie, sweetheart, etc. He calls me all the above.

My husband rarely calls me by my name, either. It actually sounds strange when he uses it. I just think it is funny that so many people use the same terms of endearment for each other or perhaps it is a cultural thing. Thank you for responding :)

I call my fiance most of the normal nicknames: honey, sweetie, etc. I will usually only call him by his real name if I need to get his attention in public. He has kind of bad hearing, and doesn't always hear me trying to get his attention, and I feel less weird about saying his name loudly than "sweetie." He calls me similar nicknames most of the time, and we each have one special nickname for each other, which are very silly, and private between us.

Yes, those seem to be the most popular nicknames. I wonder if it is a cultural thing or universal. That may be a subject for my next discussion. My husband has a LOT of nicknames for me. I don't know why, but I just don't for him. Thank you for sharing.

Well my dear hubby passed away almost 6 years ago. We had our pet names for each other. He was Mikey Bear, and I was Honey Bear. We had 2 grandkids at the time. Anthony was Boo Bear, and then there was Shelly bear. We did call each other by our names as well. I also would call him babe, and he would call me Hun. I really didn't like being called hun though. It made me think of my dad calling my mom that. Not that it was a bad thing. But you know.. my kids just call me mom, but when they talk, and don't know I hear them, they call me mommy. My grandkids call me nanny.

Aw, the bear thing is so sweet. I love Boo Bear. That sounds so sweet to me. My husband calls me Honey mostly and it sounds so generic to me because so many men call their significant other that, I am not so sure why that is a favorite. It loses some of it's uniqueness for me knowing millions of other women are called "Honey" also. My Mother-In-Law was called Nanny buy her Grand-children, also. My youngest is 16 and sometimes in a moment of weakness still calls me Mommy, ha-ha. I think it is sweet.

My husband and I call each other "Baby". If he uses my first name, I'm generally in trouble! (and vice versa). I do call my children by their names, or just 'son'. I call my girlfriend Princess :)

lol..So if you hear your first name you know to hide! My husband calls our boys "son", also. You must be very close to your girlfriend to have a pet name for her, also. :) Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it.

I call my husband SEXY!!! I think it's odd that someone would hate being called by their first name, especially by a spouse. Aren't spouses equal, and isn't that his name? Why does he hate it? Does he hate the name, or does he hate you using it?

Woohoo! lol and I hope that he IS! Nice to have a sexy hubby..lol He always calls me "Honey", he rarely uses my real name. He says if just feels strange to use it. I have only heard him use it very rarely..most times if he is referring to me to a friend or family member. Nope..he doesn't hate his name..Just feels since he feels it is strange to use mine, that I should feel the same..I just don't feel comfortable using those types of endearments. I do call my kids "Sweetie" with no problem, so I don't know. He has to take what he can get..lol

My other half likes to use endearmeants. He calls me my love, i call him sweetheart. We use just about every pet name you think of. He also hates it when i call him by his name because apparently i only do it when im angry. I know this isnt true. Obviously sometime i use his name when my friends and i have a little gossip.

Yep..you have to make sure that they know who you are talking about when gossiping..lol I have always called him by his first name..I think after all of these years that he has finally given up on me and accepted it. It is just what I have always done. I know he is angry when he calls me "WOMAN"! When I hear that, I know that I have went too far..lol
