Short term amnesia

I am 67 year old female and had an episode of amnesia last week which lasted about 6-8 hours. I had been ill with vomiting and my husband took me to hospital, but it is all a blank for me. I began to come out of it in the evening with no memory of how I got to the hosp or what had happened while there. It is very frustrating and very scarey for me. I also have dizzy spells much like Menieres quite often. They have done a cat scan and an ultra sound on my carotid arteries, the scan was good, but no result on the ultra sound yet. I also had difficulty typing for a time. Anyone out there with this problem?
