If you suffer from abxiety and have not tried meditating I recommend it. I have anxiety issues and meditation has made a huge difference. I have some white noise in the background, such as water running. That way I hear it and not other noises in the house. I close my eyes and practice belly breathing for a few minutes. I then start repeating outloud a postitive statement. I inhale and say the positive statement as I exhale. After a minute or two I stop and just breath. Then I repeat another positive statement for a minute or two, then stop and breathe. It only lasts about 5-7 minutes, but it makes a huge difference in cutting down on stress. Yes meditation is great for anxiety. I find that I often have a hard time sitting still when I try to meditate but I got this biofeedback meditation program which really helps me to focus. It also give training for breathing exercises. I love this biofeedback stuff. I always feel better within minutes of starting it. If you are interested in learning more about biofeedback, I wrote a short article about it in my blog under the health tips section. ~Kythe42 http://lemurianphoenix.blogspot.com

this is the first time that i have ever heard about the biofeedback type of meditation. i will surely go to your blog to learn more about it. all of a sudden i have realized that i need to learn these techniques in dealing with situations which can cause within me some feelings which are kind of difficult to deal with. since i am making presentations from time to time, it seems i will never graduate from being into this situation from time to time. i am thanking you in advance for this.

this is a very helpful exercise to do. i am doing this now. i need to. i am going through something like this panicky feeling since i am doing some preparations for a presentation. whenever we are undertaking some crucial points in our lives these things about panicking and getting so anxious grip us without warning. i need to sort everything out and this will include sorting out the twirling things in head and body. anyway, slowly i am coping. once i get into this meditation thing, i hope to get my feelings right and undertake all the necessary steps to make sure that i have the complete set needed for the presentation.
